About the Founder

There is a vast difference between communication and effective communication.”

Beau de Klerk

I come from Calvinia a small town in the Northern Cape province of South Africa.  If asked what the definition of effective communication is, anyone there will tell you it is the natural process of looking someone in the eye while talking from the heart.

After more than 16 years of working as a professional in various channels of marketing, sales and communications, I found exactly that to be missing…the natural process!!  I feel it was replaced over years, to the biggest extent, with unnatural manipulative technics curtesy of human behaviour psychology, causing disconnect between the company and their target audience and leaving the brand vulnerable to harmful publicity hurting their reputation.

This resulted in brands sending more marketing messages via more platforms than ever…but with less effectiveness than ever and more budget than ever.

My discontent pushed me towards research and development of practical ways to do AUTHENTIC and EFFECTIVE messaging. 12 months later and after much effort I had the privilege of witnessing the birth of a framework and strategy which was to become The Message Company in months to come.  With the TMC framework I was now able to assist companies through a unique story-telling process to understand their target audience and clarify their messaging to them, whether employees or clients.

It is truly my passion to guide businesses in defining their ideal target markets, finding their authentic voice and becoming more effective communicators.

What We Do

Hook, Line and Sinker: would you take your own bait?

To me, the WRONG MESSAGE, is much like fishing with the best rod, tackle and gear, but using the wrong bait for the type of fish you are angling for: With the incorrect messaging, you will attract the wrong fish (whether the intended catch is an employee or a client).

This can leave you at risk for catching great white sharks, when all you wanted was yellow fin tuna…

… I’m hooked.
